There ARE some things that make me happy
Dear Blogert,
For the most part, I am completely fed up with my life as it's going right now. But I'm going to start with all the positive things in my life!
First I started CHAPS this Thursday. I love doing CHAPS. Last year, you know I just worked with the horses and only got to kind of chat with the kids and occasionally help in lessons. Well, this year I'll be volunteering in lessons as a leader (I have a line attached to the horse's halter so I can lead it around...but mostly we try to let the kids lead the horse, even if it's wrong). So I'm working with a girl named Rachel. She's funny. I can definitely look forward to Thursdays to lift my spirits.
Second I went to Chicago. But not for long enough :-(. I drove up there Friday afternoon to visit my roommate from Boulder, Emily. She was playing an Ultimate Tournament in Naperville, but had gotten to IL early to hang out in the windy city. So I wanted to meet up with her. I should have just skipped all my classes on Friday and gone up Thursday night. But I'm lame...sooo.... Anyway, we saw Millenium park and went to Navy Pier and ate dinner. Three of her friends from A&M who are also on her Ultimate team were there. It was great. We stayed the night at Emily's friend's aunt's house. It was almost as nice as my house, but not quite.....YEAH RIGHT! This neighborhood was incredible!! Emily and I slept in the same bed which is fine cause we're best friends but weird because it was only the 6th day we've spent together!!!!! Unbelievable. When she is the maid of honor at my wedding, it will probably be like our 3rd time seeing each other ever. We've already made plans to see each other over spring break. So I really hope that works out...I got to see Emily play Ultimate, too. Unfortunately they lost the game I watched. I was unlucky :-(. I bought a t-shirt from the tournament so I'll remember it forever! The time went so fast, and I'd been looking forward to it since like July...bummer.
Next Saturday is Dylan's birthday. I don't know what to get him. Tell me what I should get him. Ok thanks.
So those are the positive things in my life. The negative thing is school. Thursday (same day as CHAPS), i just had a total breakdown about what I'm doing. I think I'm coming to terms with the fact that I picked the wrong major. I mean maybe, Blog, you're shocked to read this, but I'm shocked too. It seemed so right for so long. Now, though it's like I got close, but not quite on the bullseye as to what I want to do. Not that I actually know what I want to do...but details, details. I don't regret picking meteorology because it's been a great experience and amazing background, and obviously I'll have a degree in it in 8 months. Plus it's how I got to go to Boulder and meet Emily. And of course there's Darrel...
On a side note, my brother got in this terrible biking accident right before Labor Day Weekend. He's been practically dying. He's in a sling. He ripped all his tendons in his shoulder...like the ones that hold his collarbone in place. So he looks like a freak now, apparently. He's in a lot of pain. Also he got an infection from all the like abrasions. It especially sucked because he was supposed to come to IN for that weekend :-/ Poor Bookie.
Until later then, Bloggy.
